Snow Resorts Australia is deeply saddened by the passing of Kevin James Blyton, a long-standing advocate, investor and leader in the Australian snow industry.

Kevin’s contribution over nearly two decades has been extraordinary. Since acquiring Charlotte Pass Snow Resort in 2006 and later Selwyn Snow Resort in 2015, his vision and investment have helped shape both mountains into welcoming, vibrant destinations. His ownership and development of the Kosciuszko Chalet Hotel, Stillwell Hotel and Lucy Lodge at Charlotte Pass reflected his passion for creating experiences that celebrated the unique character of the Australian Alps.

Beyond the resorts, Kevin’s commitment to regional tourism and economic development extended to ownership of Snowy Mountains Airport, Jindabyne Cinema and Magic Mountain Merimbula, strengthening vital connections between the coast and the mountains.

Kevin was also the founder and owner of the Capital Radio Network, having purchased his first station 2XL at just 19 years of age. From that beginning, he built a network that extended across the Snowy Mountains, Southern Tablelands, Gippsland, the ACT and Perth, creating opportunities and careers for countless people in Australian media.

Kevin served as a Director of Snow Resorts Australia for more than a decade, providing invaluable insight and leadership that helped guide our industry through both growth and challenge. His advocacy, entrepreneurial spirit and belief in Australian snow tourism have left an enduring legacy – one that continues through the people, places and businesses he inspired.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his daughter Lucy and her family during this difficult time.
