Five medals in four days, with Australia’s Winter Games momentum continuing to build! 🥇 🥇 🥇 🥈 🥉
With the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics only halfway through, Australia has built on Cooper Woods’ early gold with another four medals, making this our most successful Winter Games ever.
Each performance has been remarkable in its own right, reflecting the strength, depth and resilience of Australia’s winter sport athletes:
🥇 Josie Baff, a proud Snowy Mountains local who grew up in Jindabyne, delivered an unforgettable Gold medal performance in Snowboard Cross, thrilling Australians watching at home and inspiring the communities that helped shape her journey.
🥇 Jakara Anthony claimed her second Olympic Gold medal, cementing her place as Australia’s most successful Winter Olympian ever. Jakara has spent years refining her craft on the moguls course at Mt Buller that now proudly bears her name, a fitting tribute to an athlete who continues to redefine what’s possible in Australian winter sport.
🥈 Scotty James added another Olympic Silver medal to his extraordinary career, becoming Australia’s most decorated Winter Olympian of all time. Beyond the podium, Scotty’s commitment to the next generation is evident at Thredbo Resort, where his donation of a mini pipe cutter helped bring MOOKi’s Mini Pipe to life – creating new opportunities for young riders to progress and dream big.
🥉 Matt Graham secured his second Olympic medal with Bronze in Dual Moguls, a testament to his longevity and consistency at the highest level. His connection to Perisher Ski Resort runs deep, with a run named in his honour – a reminder of the pathway from Australian slopes to the Olympic stage.
All four athletes have spent considerable time training on Australian snow in recent years. Their achievements are the result of extraordinary personal dedication, supported by strong high-performance systems and the sustained investment in infrastructure, facilities and programs across Australia’s snow resorts.
From first turns on Aussie mountains to the Olympic podium, these Games are a powerful reminder of what can grow from our alpine communities.
And with the second half of Milano Cortina still to come, the story isn’t finished yet! ⛷️ 🏂 ❄️
